13th World Potato Congress Kenya 2026 is an international congress for the entire potato value chain, held in Kenya, in its 13th edition, organised by the non-profit World Potato Congress Inc. with the collaboration of the local host committee.
The congress aims to foster communication and information sharing within the global potato community and create cooperation opportunities, helping stakeholders strengthen their own and their communities' development capacity by improving the potato value chain. It is supported by a network of volunteer directors and works with host committees in different locations to bring the meeting to various potato-growing regions.
The programme centres on sustainable development and innovation in the potato industry, covering growing practices, variety improvement, plant protection and storage, and processing and markets, and shares industry progress through ongoing online webinars. The congress also highlights the role of the potato in food security and nutrition, providing a platform for exchange and cooperation among growers, research institutions, seed potato and input companies, processors, traders and policy bodies.
