WOMEX 2026 (Worldwide Music Expo) is an international professional expo for the global music industry, combining a trade fair, conference, film screenings and live performances, and bringing together music professionals, performance agencies, record and distribution companies and related service providers from around the world.
Its musical range is broad, from traditional folk, roots and jazz to local and diaspora cultures and urban and electronic music, each with showcase and performance elements; the program includes a trade fair, forums, film screenings, showcase performances, an opening concert and an awards segment, with live performances presented across multiple stages.
Attendees are mainly booking agencies, labels, publishers and distributors, government and educational institutions, managers and producers, and media journalists; the event also offers musicians, booking and production agencies opportunities for exchange, collaboration and international touring connections, and maintains an online community and directory so professionals can stay connected beyond the event.
The most recent edition brought together 2040 professionals from 100 countries, including 281 performing artists representing 989 companies; the trade fair featured 407 exhibitors from 41 countries across 176 stands, while the conference brought together 95 speakers from 48 countries in 18 sessions, complemented by networking activities, mentoring and joint announcements.
