If an organisation books equipped space for its participation, it receives a turnkey stand that includes walls, a fascia panel with lettering, lighting, an electrical socket of up to 1 kW, and standard equipment whose amount depends on the stand area. Unequipped space is usually booked by companies that have their own custom stands and install them themselves in the pavilion on the exhibition build-up day. In that case the company must obtain accreditation for building its custom stand from the exhibition centre's contractor, providing all necessary certificates and documents confirming the safety of the structure. When booking unequipped space the company must also order an electrical distribution board of the required capacity to power all electrical consumers on its stand.
A row stand is open to visitors on one side only, with the other three sides being stand walls. A corner stand is open on two sides, a peninsula stand on three, and an island stand on four. A more open stand gives a company more opportunities to present its products and services and to work efficiently with a larger number of visitors at the same time.
