elektrotechnik 2027
Edition45 Bringing together power equipment, energy technologies, and infrastructure, where exhibitors meet German and European energy engineering and project buyers.
elektrotechnik is a specialised electrical industry trade fair held in Dortmund, Germany, organised around three main sections — building technology, energy technology and industrial technology — and providing a central setting for the display of and exchange on electrical solutions.
The building technology section focuses on smart buildings, building automation, efficient heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting technology, and digital planning and control solutions; the energy technology section presents photovoltaics, energy storage, switching technology, charging infrastructure, energy management and networked supply solutions; the industrial technology section covers automation, sensor technology, control and regulation technology, measurement technology, switchgear manufacturing and industrial processes.
The fair serves trade visitors such as electrical trade businesses, planning and design offices, industrial manufacturing, and the power and energy sector, who typically take part in investment, project and purchasing decisions. It includes professional forums, conferences and themed exhibition areas for knowledge transfer and exchange on topics such as smart buildings, the energy transition, automation, artificial intelligence, and measurement and testing.
In terms of this edition's scale, the fair brings together around 400 exhibiting companies, with exhibitors from about 15 countries, and welcomes around 20,000 trade visitors; it also uses marketing packages, a digital archive and advertising formats to help exhibitors extend their reach beyond the stand.

Setup starts on 11 February 2027, daily from 7:00 to 18:00, and ends on 15 February 2027 at 16:00 (vehicles must leave the hall). Dismantling starts on 18 February 2027 from 17:00 and ends in Hall 6 on 18 February at 22:00 and in all other halls on 18 February at 22:00 and from 19 to 21 February at 18:00. Stand material may only be placed within the exhibitor's own stand area, empty packaging must be removed immediately and aisles must be kept clear; vehicles may enter the halls if the logistics situation permits.
The 'Werk-Stadt' area focuses on practice rather than theory. Exhibitors present their products and services there to the next generation of skilled workers; the area is promoted separately and participating exhibitors receive a prominent display stand at their main stand pointing to the additional offering in the 'Werk-Stadt'. Exhibitors show the functionality, handling and uniqueness of new solutions for construction sites, buildings and industrial applications using practical examples.
Universities, educational institutions and chambers present their services and programmes in the education sector in various ways at the careers camp; companies can also present their career opportunities there.
In addition to a stand at Messe Dortmund, exhibitors can increase their reach with their own online exhibitor profile. This package is mandatory and is booked automatically with registration. Company details that can be entered include the company name, address and/or contact details; the entries appear in the directory formats offered by the organiser, alternatively or cumulatively in the online exhibitor directory, on the monitors of the info columns in the exhibition halls and entrances, in the fair app where available, and in the printed directory. Depending on the options offered, exhibitors can also ask the organiser about and book chargeable additions. All co-exhibitors, additional companies and their exhibits must be registered, because the marketing package is invoiced to the main exhibitor per co-exhibitor or additional company. If no listing of additional companies in the directory is desired, this must be noted in the registration form; the deadline for submitting directory entries is 31 December 2026.
