ifia JAPAN is a specialized trade exhibition for food ingredients, food additives and related R&D applications, held in Tokyo, Japan and co-located with HFE JAPAN, serving professionals in food manufacturing, formulation R&D, ingredient procurement, quality management and product development.

The exhibition covers food ingredients and additives, functional food ingredients, food safety and quality management, ingredients for foods with function claims, and OEM and processing support, extending to application areas such as beverages, bakery, processed foods, prepared foods and frozen foods. Exhibit areas span bakery, noodle and confectionery production; seafood and meat processing; prepared, ready-to-eat and foodservice and delivery; health and nutrition food ingredients; pet food ingredients; food safety and quality management; ingredients for foods with function claims; beverages and alcoholic drinks; Western confectionery and Japanese sweets; beauty; care and elderly foods; and private-label manufacturing, contract processing, excipients and food manufacturing equipment.

The exhibition organizes content including a food safety and science forum, food development seminars and administrative seminars on food additives and food ingredients, covering topics such as the gut environment, beauty, food and health-related additives, processing technology, and the latest information and market trends in functional foods.

The most recent edition received 31,096 visitors and held 325 conference sessions; attendance at earlier editions ranged from 22,000 to more than 36,000. Combining ingredient exhibits, technical exchange, trade matchmaking and conference elements, the event suits suppliers of food ingredients, additives, functional ingredients and processing support.
